Soon after his TV show ruffled feathers with after an episode dealing with malpractices in medical profession; the actor has received an invitation to the Sansad Bhavan. Aamir and his creative team will be there on Thursday to give their views on the subject of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the pharmaceutical sector. “It’s a matter of great pride,” says an insider. Apparently, the head of the parliamentary committee, Shanta Kumar has invited Aamir to the Parliament. “The basic idea is to share the research on the subject of medicines.
Aamir is personally working hard on it,” reveals the insider. Although Aamir remained unavailable for a comment, his official spokesperson confirms: “Yes, Aamir has been invited and he would be going there on Thursday.” Minister of state for parliamentary affairs, Rajeev Shukla, however, says he is unaware of any such development. “I am not aware of Aamir being given any such permission. It is not easy.”
The only other actors who tried to get inside Parliament but could only manage getting till the gates are Emraan Hashmi for a film’s promotion and Rakhi Sawant, who harbours political aspirations.
