Hoichoi, a digital Bengali entertainment content platform is coming up with a web series on Byomkesh Bakshi who’s first episode shall premiere on Saturday.

Hoichoi, the world’s largest digital Bengali entertainment content platform is coming up with a web series on Byomkesh Bakshi. The first episode premieres on Saturday, October 14, which will be the first Byomkesh series to be available on an OTT platform worldwide.

Byomkesh Bakshi is one of the most celebrated Bengali fictional detective characters created by Saradindu Bandopadhyay. Set in the 1930s, the series is based on the adventures of Byomkesh and his friend and biographer Ajit, who usually accompanies Bakshi during his investigations. Anirban Bhattacharya, recently seen in the critically-acclaimed film Dhananjoy, portrays the lead role of Byomkesh, with Subrat Dutta in the role of Byomkesh’s trusted friend-turned-aide, Ajit.

Ridhima Ghosh plays Satyabati, Byomkesh’s wife. Byomkesh has been produced by SVF, East India’s largest entertainment company, and has been directed by Sayantan Ghoshal.
