Shantanu says, I never thought that I would win it and even enjoy doing the stunts so much.

Shantanu Maheshwari is over the moon. The 26-year-old actor-dancer has won the adventure reality show, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi season 8. “It feels awesome to have won the show,” he says, adding, “I never thought that I would win it and even enjoy doing the stunts so much.” Shantanu admits he didn’t join the show with the idea of winning it. “I felt it was a good opportunity to travel and indulge in activities that perhaps I would never attempt in my life.”

Well-known for his dancing skills more than acting, the Dil Dosti Dance (D3) actor is busy with his dance troupe and is on the lookout for good acting projects. Since his debut in D3, six years ago, he has done appearances in single episodes on youth oriented shows such as Yeh Hai Aashiqui, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, Twistwala Love and Big F Season 2. His last acting assignment was Girls On Top. Shantanu’s popularity rose when he became a finalist on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 9 and his dance crew won the World of Dance 2015 Championship. Though dance seems to over shadow acting, he says that is not the case.

“I started my career with D3 as an actor. When I joined the industry, I never thought of getting into acting because I was more interested in choreography. I loved the camera, so I wanted to do something creative behind-the-scenes. I was selected for D3 because of my dancing more than my acting. But when I started acting, I found out that I enjoy it. I thought, ‘why not give it a shot?’ Now, I want to do more work in the acting space. I want to prove myself as an actor. Acting has not taken a backseat. I love to act and I love to dance. Dance is my first preference but acting is not very far away. I am waiting to play the right characters,” he says.
