, will jump into the big league with a role opposite Matt Damon in a Hollywood film.

The film is based on the sports reality show,

Million Dollar Arm

, which was aired on Zee Sports in 2008. Bohra says, “The film is the brainchild of sports manager James Bernstein. He did

Million Dollar Arm

in India because we play cricket, where the throwing of the ball is similar to baseball. He selected two boys from small towns in UP, who used to play cricket. In the heart of India, we have a lot of sporting talent.”

The film, produced by Disney, is a rags-to-riches story of the two winners Rinku Singh and Dinesh Patel from the hinterlands of India. These boys even met US President Barack Obama at the White House three months ago. Adds Bohra, “I will be playing the role of Rinku Singh who is from UP. The father of the real Rinku is still a farmer who earns Rs 3000 a month. When they won the reality show two years back, they won 300,000 dollars.” Damon plays the role of Bernstein.

Shooting for the baseball movie is likely to start in May or June. Dev Patel is likely to play the role of Dinesh, the other winner of the reality show. “The production guys have told me that the only Indian who could play the role of the second guy is Dev Patel,” reveals Bohra. The show has so far played for only one season in India. The second season will go on air in April. The two boys who won the show in the first season have been selected to play for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Bernstein has managed the careers of cricketer Anil Kumble and American baseball player Barry Bonds.
