Upen Patel and Karishma Tanna in ‘no rush’ to get married

The duo Karishma Tanna and Upen Patel fell in love on Big Boss 8 and have been inseparable since then. However, they are booked professionally and marriage will have to wait, says Upen Patel.

TV stars Upen Patel and Karishma Tanna, who got engaged last year, are too busy with work to finalise a date for their wedding. Upen and Karishma have been together for over a year now. The two met on a reality TV show, and later, participated in a celebrity dance show together. Soon, the “reality couple”, as they are fondly called, will be seen judging a reality show as well. Be it professionally or personally, the duo has been going steady.

It all began when Upen ­proposed to Karishma on national television in June. But while they got engaged, the couple did not announce a wedding date. “We are both tied up with our commitments, and are really busy right now,” says Upen, adding that they both are happy to be working “non-stop” on shows and movies. In fact, they are “booked ­professionally” until July next year. He continues, “As soon as we get a good gap, we will lock a date. We are not going to rush into it, as our families, too, would like to ­celebrate the occasion in a proper manner.”

Meanwhile, Upen is glad that sharing ­professional space with Karishma gives the couple ample time to spend with each other. “We have a ­natural understanding, good ­chemistry and respect for each other. We push each other to do better. Having a person so close to you professionally, who understands your strengths and weaknesses, is an advantage,” he says.
