At BRICS summit, PM Modi, Xi & Putin’s first meet amid Ukraine war

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend the 14th BRICS summit to be hosted virtually this year by Chinese President XI Jinping. China is the chair of the meeting this year and will host the BRICS nations - Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa on June 23. As per reports, the meeting may not bring much to the table for India given the ongoing tension over the LAC between India and China. Xi Jinping will deliver a keynote address at the opening session of the summit on June 22 and will chair the High-level Dialogue on Global Development in Beijing on June 24.
