A complaint was filed by family members of a man who had died during anti-Citizenship Act protests in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor. 20-year old Suleiman died on December 20, 2019. The police claimed that its personnel fired at protestors in self-defence. However, Suleiman's family claims that he was picked up by the police while returning from a mosque after prayers, and subsequently shot. Police said that while a new FIR won't be filed, the complaint has been admitted and allegations contained in it will be probed.
