Maharashtra has the highest Covid-19 mortality rate among all Indian states

Maharashtra's mortality rate is two times that of India's average. Maharashtra's mortality rate till Monday was 5.98%, while India's overall mortality rate is 2.66%. Most of those who have succumbed to the pandemic have been over 50 years of age .For instance, in Mumbai, 33 deaths have taken place in the 51 to 80-plus age group.
