Amid warnings aired by experts that a third Covid-19 wave may be looming on the horizon for India, the World Health Organisation said that two vaccine doses are needed for full-level protection against the Delta variant of the Sars-CoV-2 virus. The Delta variant was first seen in India, and has now spread to over 90 countries. It is more transmissible, i.e. infectious, and reduces the efficacy of vaccines.
