Rajnath Singh, Harsh Vardhan release 1st batch of DRDO's anti-Covid drug 2-DG

The first batch of anti-Covid oral drug 2-DG, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), was released on May 17 by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Health Minister Harsh Vardhan. The drug has been developed by DRDO's Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS) in collaboration with Dr Reddy's Laboratories. Earlier this month, the Drugs Controller General of India (DGCI) approved the 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG) drug for emergency use as an adjunct therapy in moderate to severe Covid patients.
