about the video

After defeating South Africa in the opening Test of the series at Lord’s, England are looking to build on their lead in the second Test at Trent Bridge beginning on 14th July (Friday). New England captain Joe Root enjoyed a perfect start to his captaincy leading his side to a convincing 221-run win as well as scoring a brilliant century (190) to set his side on course for victory. Despite this, the man-of-the-match award went to Moeen Ali. The Nottinghamshire all-rounder took 10 wickets in the match, with career best figures of six for 53 in the second innings, as well as scoring vital first innings runs (87). England are likely to field the same team having named an unchanged 12-man squad for the second Test in Nottingham. Middlesex seamer Toby Roland-Jones is expected to miss out again as Liam Dawson looks set to be retained and seam trio James Anderson, Stuart Broad and Mark Wood bowled just 10 overs between them in the second innings in London. South Africa welcome back captain Faf du Plessis after he missed the first Test following the birth of his first child. They will hope for some inspiration from their returning skipper as they aim to level the series before the final two Tests at The Oval and Old Trafford. (Video courtesy: SNTV)
