Both Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) needed a win but only one could bag the much-needed two points. After 39.3 overs of nail-biting cricket, it was PBKS that edged out KKR for a five-wicket in Dubai. While Arshdeep Singh starred with a three-wicket haul in the first innings, helping PBKS restrict KKR to 165/6 in 20 overs, KL Rahul (67), Mayank Agarwal (40), and Shahrukh Khan (22 off 9) shone with the bat. For Kolkata, Venkatesh Iyer had smashed 67 in the first innings. KKR remain 4th, despite the loss, but Punjab displace Mumbai Indians at 5th in the points table.
