Exodus review: CGI perfect but does not meet expectations

Exodus: Gods and Kings is a Biblically-inspired epic directed by Ridley Scott. The film stars Christian Bale as Moses and Joel Edgerton as Ramses, two brothers who battle out to decide the fate of Egypt. The rest of the cast include John Turturro, Aaron Paul, Sigourney Weaver, and Ben Kingsley. It is an interpretation of the exodus of the Hebrews from Egypt led by Moses, related in the Book of Exodus. Th film has great CGI and two strong leads but Scott goes with the bigger-is-better model of filmmaking. The film is visually exciting but has no heart.
