Sooryavanshi | No Rating Movie Review | Akshay Kumar | Katrina Kaif

Sooryavanshi is a celebration of mainstream Hindi cinema, bringing back whistles and cheers to a theatre after a long time. The film is fuelled by director Rohit Shetty’s trademark action and Akshay Kumar brings it in abundance. Sooryavanshi begins after the 1993 bomb blasts in Mumbai. 13 years later, when a terrorist group is back in action and planning another mission, DCP Veer Sooryavanshi, (Akshay), the head of Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad, is assigned the task of tracking them and stopping the attacks. Contrary to what the posters and trailers might try to make you believe, Sooryavanshi is not a three-hero film. It has special appearances from Ajay Devgn as Singham, and Ranveer Singh as Simmba, that too in the last 30 minutes, which are the highlight. Performance wise, Katrina is convincing as a loving wife and a doting mom. Then there’s a great lineup of supporting cast including Javed Jaaferi, Kumud Mishra, Jackie Shroff, Abhimanyu Singh, Mrunal Jain, Gulshan Grover, Nikiten Dheer, Sikander Kher and Vivan Bhatena. Watch Sooryavanshi to make your Diwali weekend even more special.
