Southern megastar Rajnikanth turns 62

The man who has redefined the standards of superstardom and defied age to adapt to roles turns 62 today.Rajinikanth's real name is Shivaji Rao Gaikwad. He was born in Bangalore. Rajnikanth has seen a lot of struggle in his formative years. From being a coolie to working as a bus conductor, Rajinikanth did odd jobs to make ends meet. But once he caught the eye of noted filmmaker K Balachander there was no looking back for him. He delivered big hits and became a phenomenon down south. He also did some notable roles in Bollywood flicks like Chaalbaaz, Andha Kanoon and Hum.
