French firefighters joined Spanish crews to battle massive wildfires raging in Spain’s Zamora region, as part of a broad international response involving hundreds of reinforcements and aircraft from France, Germany, and the Czech Republic. With 382,600 hectares burned across Spain this year, officials warn that 23 active fires nationwide continue to pose serious threats to communities. This wildfire season is now the worst on record since 2006.
