India has once again clarified its stand on the Israel-Palestine conflict after controversy over its decision to not vote for a humanitarian truce in Gaza. India had abstained from a UNGA vote in favour of a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza due to absence of explicit condemnation of Hamas’ October 7 assault. Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said this when asked if India would call for a ceasefire.
