Jaishankar, at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2025, said Vladimir Putin’s upcoming visit is “significant” for India’s strategic interests and will not complicate ties with the United States, stressing that diplomacy is “not about pleasing everyone” but about pursuing India’s national priorities. He indicated that a long‑discussed India–US trade deal is now within reach, even as New Delhi simultaneously works to stabilise and “re‑engage” relations with China, underlining India’s commitment to a multi‑aligned foreign policy.
