39 Indians killed in Iraq: Opposition asks why government gave false hopes
Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor criticised the government on Tuesday over its delay in sharing the news of the 39 Indian men killed in Iraq. He also asked why the government gave false hopes to the family members of the men if there was no concrete evidence of them being alive. Capt. Amarinder Singh, Punjab CM, also said that earlier indications had also hinted towards this and that they had expected the news. Sushma Swaraj, on the other hand, held her ground and said that her government does not believe in 'missing believed to be killed' theory. She also criticised the Congress and said the party is indulging in petty politics over sensitive issues.
