Alleged Rhea drug link: Sushant’s family’s lawyer says case getting ‘serious’

An alleged drug angle has introduced a fresh twist in the case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death. A news channel claimed to have accessed messages which showed the late actor's girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, discussing banned drugs like marijuana and MDMA. As per reports, the Enforcement Directorate has also referred some evidence linking Rhea to banned drugs to the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Narcotics Control Bureau. Reacting to the development, the lawyer of Sushant's family said that the matter was getting 'very, very serious'. He said that the scope of the proceedings was widening 'substantially' now. As per lawyer Vikas Singh, the actor's family had been under the impression that Sushant was being overdosed with prescription drugs, but the introduction of a banned drugs angle would lead to abetment to suicide or murder case.
