Flying high: Indian Air Force’s women officers

With Flying Officer Avani Chaturvedi recently becoming India's first woman fighter pilot, another male bastion has been breached. She flew the Mig-21 bison aircraft on February 19, 2018. She is among the three women officers, along with Bhavna Kanth and Mohana Singh, who were selected by the IAF in June 2016 to be assigned to the fighter stream of the service. This came 25 years after the Air Force inducted first inducted women officers into operational duties. Meet some of IAF's pioneer women officers.
