Kerala floods: People offer special prayers for victims

Amid the extreme weather condition and critical flood situation in parts of Kerala, special prayers were offered on the banks of Agnitheertham Sea in Rameswaram on Sunday. Prayers were held for the people who lost their lives in Kerala floods. On August 18, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed that the death toll in the flood-hit state has increased to 357. Vijayan added that the state has suffered a loss of Rs 19,512 crores due to floods. In some respite from the state, red alert has been withdrawn from all the districts of Kerala but eleven districts are on orange alert.
