Over 170 MLAs in Shiv Sena camp, says Sanjay Raut amid power tussle with BJP
As political uncertainty continues to grip Maharashtra, a Shiv Sena leader made a big claim. Sanjay Raut claimed that the saffron party has the support of over 170 MLAs. The statement came in the backdrop of a power tussle between the Sena and its ally Bharatiya Janata Party. While the BJP won 105 seats, the Sena secured 56 seats in the recent Assembly elections. Uddhav Thackeray’s party has been demanding equal power-sharing, including rotation of the Chief Minister’s post after two and a half years. Meanwhile, Nationalist Congress Party’s Ajit Pawar claimed that he received a message from Raut, and would call him later.
