Authority would be formed to protect endangered reptiles

Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh, on Monday said that his ministry would do everything to protect the 'ghadiyal', a critically endangered, indigenous sub-species of the crocodile family. On a visit to the famous Crocodile Bank in Tamil Nadu, Ramesh announced that an authority would be formed to conserve the reptile.
