Cabinet withdraws ordinance on lawmakers

Following a Cabinet meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, the government has decided to withdraw a controversial ordinance that protects convicted parliamentarians following stern opposition from Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi who described the policy as nonsense.
