In what could be termed as direct confrontation with the central government, Gujarat's chief minister Narendra Modi on Thursday berated the ruling Congress Party for influencing the Central Bureau of Investigation and said that Congress would not contest the next elections in Gujarat and officers of CBI would be its candidates.
