Delhi relieved with pre-monsoon showers

Pre-monsoon showers cooled Indian capital New Delhi down by several notches on Saturday. After days of severe heat wave, the capital woke up to a thick cloud cover and rain, bringing down the soaring mercury. The showers gave residents a much-awaited relief. In the past few days, the mercury had touched 40 degrees Celsius, a notch above the average, while the minimum was at 25.1 degrees, two notches above the average, in the capital.
