Devotees throng holy shrine of Lord Shiva on Makar Sakranti

Thousands of devotees in Gorakhpur offered rice and pulses at the holy shrine of Lord Shiva,the Hindu god of destruction, on Thursday,on the occasion of Makar Sakranti festival.During the festival,devotees also offer huge quantities of khichri at the holy shrine.Devotees from all across the country come to the temple to offer porridge to the Lord Gorakhnath on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.They believe that annual offering helps fulfil their wishes.
