Farmers angry over lack of storage facilities, rotten grains

The unbearable foul smell emerging out of the tonnes of rotten grains lying in the low-lying areas of Karnal and Ismailabad in Haryana has made living a challenge for the locals. Several tonnes of unattended bags of grains, which are not fit for human consumption, have been stinking beyond all limits, as a result of which scores of families have been affected by complex of diseases. Slamming the Congress rule, BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar, questioned the logic behind the tall talks of providing food security when the ground realities are otherwise.
