First phase of voting begins in Chhattisgarh under heavy security

The first phase of voting for the 18 constituencies in the Maoist-strongholds of Bastar and Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh began under heavy security on Monday. This marks the beginning of the battle of ballot in five states ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in 2014.
