Gangotri temple threatened by environmental issue

The 18th century's temple located near Himalayan glacier Gangotri faces threat due to increased human activity and environmental degradation. Perched at a height of 3042 meters, the Gangotri temple is visited by thousands of pilgrims between May and October. But, increased human activities and deforestation is causing soil erosion in the region.
