Govt announces seventh pay commission

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday approved the constitution of the 7th Pay Commission, which is likely to impact at least 85 lakh central government employees and pensioners, in a way trying to woo all central employees ahead of 2014 polls.
