Haneef placed in immigration detention

In a setback to Mohammed Haneef, Australian authorities on Monday invoked immigration laws to detain him, shortly after a court granted the Indian doctor bail in connection with the failed UK terror plot. The Australian government has also cancelled Haneef's working visa on suspicion that he had links to terrorists. Doctor Mohamed Haneef, 27, has been in custody since July 2 but was only charged on Saturday.
