India revises air quality standards after 15 years

The Centre on Wednesday unveiled tougher and uniform norms to combat air pollution, saying industrial and residential areas will no longer have two different standards on air quality. The revised 'uniform' norms coming after a gap of 15 years, were announced by Union Minister of State for Environment and Forests Jairam Ramesh.
