India to double renewable energy capacity by 2017: PM

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday said that India is taking steps to exploit non-conventional clean energy sources like solar and wind power and has also proposed to double renewable energy capacity from 25,000 MW in 2012 to 55,000 MW by the year 2017.
