Effective transportation helps in rapid economic growth of any nation. In India, where an extensive network of rivers, canals and backwaters, the potential for bulk transport through inland waterways is tremendous. At a recent workshop in Kochi, the IWAI stressed on the economic feasibility of National Waterway Number 3.
