Maoists ambush security personnel in Chhattisgarh, over a dozen killed
At least 20 (updated till 17:00 hours) jawans are feared killed and several others have been injured in an encounter that went on for over three hours between the Naxals and security forces in the Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday. The attack reportedly began around 10:30 am in the Tongpal area, about 500 km south of Raipur. Following the attack, an encounter broke out between the CRPF-police personnel and Maoists. Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said they are “getting information, (but) cannot say anything right now”.
