Maoists block roads in WB as part of two day shutdown

Maoists blocked several roads in West Midnapore district of West Bengal on Monday,as part of the two day shut down called by the rebels in Jharkhand,Bihar and West Bengal beginning today.The shutdown call has been given to press the demand to release the doctor arrested by security forces on suspicion of being in connection with rebels,recently.The doctor, Jawaharlal Mahato,who runs a clinic in Mathurapur village, reportedly provides medical aid to Maoists.Meanwhile,Several trains were either cancelled or diverted due to the shutdown.
