Maoists kill three local leaders in West Bengal

Around midnight on Tuesday, nearly 25-armed Maoist guerillas stormed Dahijuri village and forcibly took away Hari Sing and Shankar Pal, local leaders of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). The locals later found their bodies in the outskirts of the village. Leaflets left by the rebels around the bodies said they had been killed as they were part of the government and were helping the security forces. In another incident, local block President of the Congress party was killed by Maoist in the Jhargram region of the district.
