Finally the much-awaited moment for the family of abducted Sukma district collector Alex Paul Menon arrived yesterday, when Maoists handed over the official safely to mediators in Chhattisgarh. Menon's elated father Varadhas, spoke to mediapersons soon after his son's release while thanking government authorities and Maoists for his son's safe return. Chief Minister Raman Singh in Chhattisgarh made an official briefing to announce Menon's return. Meanwhile, soon after his release from Maoist captivity, a visibly relieved but dazed Menon asserted he was fine despite the ordeal.
