At a ceremony at the general headquarters in Rawalpindi, on November 28th, Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf's nine year reign as army chief finally came to an end, as he handed over the post to former ISI chief and vice chief of army staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani. Kayani was a military aide to opposition leader Benazir Bhutto, when she was prime minister in the 1980s. Musharraf said that his heart and soul would always be with the army.
