Nation offers tribute to Rajiv Gandhi

The country today paid homage to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on Saturday on his 20th death anniversary. President Pratibha Devising Patil, Vice President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, departed leader's widow and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi paid floral tributes to the leader at Veer Bhumi today, the memorial of Gandhi. His children-Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi also paid tribute to the leader who was assassinated during an election campaign in Sriperumbudur in southern Tamil Nadu state in 1991.
