Nepal leader downplays attack on Indian priests

Visiting Nepalese opposition leader from Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist Leninist), K P Sharma on Tuesday downplayed attack on Indian priests in his country. The agitators staged demonstrations on Saturday at places adjoining the temple against the appointment of the Indian priests in one of the holiest Hindu temples in Nepal. Protestors said that the appointment of the priests was against the country's culture and demanded their removal. After meeting Indian Foreign Minister S M Krishna in New Delhi, Sharma said the attack on priests was not aimed at Indian citizens.
