Police to launch operation against Maoists

Strongly condemning the growing Maoists menace in the country UK Bansal, Special Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs said the police would run after the Maoists who had killed 17 policemen in Maharashtra state on Thursday. Over 100 Maoists ambushed an elite police team conducting regular exercise near Laheri police outpost in Gadchiroli district of the state. The gun battle between the Maoists and policemen lasted for more than four hours.
