Poll preparations in full swing in UP

As Uttar Pradesh gears up for first phase of polls on Wednesday, Election Commission officials worked in overdrive along with district officials and security personnel to check the safety measures and other arrangements for smooth conduct of elections. Out of the total 403 constituencies in the state, 55 of Central UP including Bijnore, Moradabad, Bhimnagar and Rampur, among others are going to the polls in the first phase. Briefing mediapersons, Deputy Election Commissioner Alok Shukla expressed satisfaction with poll preparations. Meanwhile, Barabanki District Magistrate, Vikas Gothalwal, said that each polling booth has been provided with elaborate security cover to avoid any untoward incident.
