Punjab Police ASI shot dead on highway

An assistant sub-inspector of the Punjab Police, Gurdev Singh was shot dead by unknown persons on the Jalandhar-Phagwara highway, on Sunday. According to reports Singh signalled a car to stop for a routine check and gave chase when it did not stop. Unidentified people in the car allegedly opened fire, killing Singh on the spot.
