Raje appeals for peace in Rajasthan

The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje, on Thursday appealed to the Gujjar community to restore peace in the state. An all-party meeting in Jaipur held to discuss the issue remained non-committal on the demands of this community, apprehending it would rake up rival groups like Meenas. However, Home Minister Shivraj Patil assured more central forces, but said it was up to the state government to tackle the issue and the situation.
