Rajiv Gandhi's assassin Nalini seeks month's parole to visit ailing father

Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's assassin, S Nalini approached Madras High Court in Tamil Nadu and sought 30 days parole to visit her ailing father. Nalini is confined in a special prison for women at Vellore Tamil Nadu for the past 22 years. Nalini had accompanied a suicide bomber squad to the election rally in Sriperumbudur where Rajiv Gandhi was killed on May 21, 1991. Earlier on Tuesday, in a landmark judgment the Supreme Court of India commuted death sentence giving life term to 15 death row inmates.
