SC rules out fresh probe in Rizwanur case

The Supreme Court today ruled out the Calcutta High Court order of registration of a murder case against industrialist Ashok Kumar Todi and some police officers in the death case of Rizwanur Rehman. However, it upheld the earlier orders of the High Court for a probe against the accused by the CBI under section 306 IPC (abetment of suicide). Rizwanur, who wedded Ashok Todi's daughter Priyanka, was found dead on the rail tracks in a month after the marriage.
