Suryanelli case: Kerala Assembly adjourned after protests

The CPI (M) led LDF on Thursday raised the issue of Rajya Sabha deputy chairman PJ Kurien in connection with the Suryanelli rape case both inside and outside the state Assembly, forcing an adjournment of the house. LDF members accused the Congress-led UDF government of trying to avoid further investigation in the 1996 case.
